MCX connectors are designed to bring higher performance to smaller footprint RF connectors. Invented in the 1980s, the MCX connector has the same internal contact and insulator dimensions as the SMB connector, but is 30% smaller than the SMB.
The full name of MCX is Mirco Coaxial. The MCX connector adopts a push-in connection method, which makes the connection and separation of the connector very fast and shortens the installation time of the connector. MCX connectors still have good electrical performance up to 6GHz and are available in 50 and 75 Ω configurations. It is also suitable for various cables such as semi-rigid cables and flexible cables, with reliable connection and long service life.

These MCX connectors feature a press-fit coupling design that connects and disconnects quickly without the use of tools. The body, needle and ferrule are gold plated to minimize insertion loss.

Termination with crimp MCX right-angle plug connectors ensures a durable, impedance-matched coaxial cable assembly. Gold-plated contacts are used to reduce insertion loss. In addition, the RG316/U coaxial cable has a stranded center conductor and an extruded fluorinated ethylene propylene sheath, which enhances the flexibility of the cable and is suitable for stable connections in high temperature environments.
